The American people need daily, independent confirmation of Trump's condition. Here is why.

Sen. Pat Toomey has announced he will not run for re-election. That increases the possibility of a tie for the Senate confirmation of ACB to SCOTUS.

A tie that would be broken by the vote of the VP.

Per the 25th Amendment, if the President becomes incapacitated, or worse, and thus "unable" to carry out the duties of the Office of the President, the VP assumes the powers of the presidency.

Having Pence move into the presidency leaves the VP seat open. For Pence to have a VP, the 25th Amendment requires the candidate to receive approval from a majority of BOTH houses of Congress - which is extremely unlikely to occur at present.

Thus, in order to preserve the ability to break a possible tie over the confirmation process, the GOP will want Pence to remain as VP.

As confirmation time gets closer, this gives the GOP every incentive to lie about Trump's condition.

If Trump is still in Walter Reed as confirmation draws near, @SpeakerPelosi needs to send someone who has already had COVID-19 to check on Trump on a daily basis.

If said person is denied entry or is unable to independently verify Trump's condition, we should all ask why.
