My wife and I have been in this house home schooling these children, disinfecting door handles and countertops etc. We’ve taken our kids to parks and made them stay 6 feet from their friends while wearing masks. They’ve seen their grandparents, aunts, uncles etc only via zoom.
We’ve experienced the great Toiletpaper wars. Exchanged words(rolled eyes really)with others in the community about hoarding too many bags of flour in their cart suggesting they leave some for others. We’ve left packages on doorsteps for 24 hours. We’ve done birthday car parades.
I’ve lost two jobs (one in fucking BALI) because SAGs rules make it hard unless you’re a Network or Studio, adding an estimated 20% to budgets. My wife and I have said “it’s hard for them too” about our kids going stir crazy. No gyms. No movies. Couple of weird outdoor dinings.
But there’s a reason. It’s very simple really. Comes from doctors/scientist and not YouTube. If we all did it we’d wipe this thing out enough to where we’d have it somewhat contained long enough as we wait for a legit vaccine.
But the republican party leaders laughed at that. Thought it didn’t apply to them. They kept pushing to open. Held rallies. Encouraged you to make decisions not based on science but emotion. Hundreds of thousands died. - And it only just became serious now?
Half a dozen doctors standing in front a podium telling us the condition of the president’s health due to catching the coronavirus because he’s treated it like a joke is infuriating. And if you think you are getting even close to the same care he’s getting you’re crazy.
