For the record, when you’re just a “regular citizen”, you don’t automatically get to be hospitalized out of an abundance of caution because you have a positive Covid test. My dad was never hospitalized. As a matter of fact, I don’t know that he ever properly diagnosed with Covid.
I do KNOW in my heart that Covid took his life.

Nonetheless, he was sent home from the ER with vague instructions and told to see his primary care physician. His primary care physician told him that he was fighting an “acute” respiratory infection, but...
“keep doing what he had been doing” and he would get better. He did get better. Then a few weeks later, he was transported back to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing.

He never made it back home after that hospital visit. I will ALWAYS feel that his death was
preventable, but unfortunately, his life didn’t matter enough to some. That’s something that I will live with for the rest of my life. MY HERO DID NOT MATTER.

So as I watch everything that’s played out over the past few days, know that there are some of us who have a much more
personal perspective than others. Don’t tell me how to feel or what “God would want me to do”. God would have wanted my dad’s life to matter just as much as others in this world. That’s it.
