I'm attending a 3 day webinar for people with my genetic disease. Lots of presentations on the myriad of cancers we'll most likely get, how to reduce risks, which specialists to see, etc etc
And then there's a whole dystopian seminar on how to navigate insurance policies, advocate for yourself, and argue that preventative tests are necessary. And then they say btw everything could change and you could be discriminated against and lose your insurance in a year or two.
Thankfully I'm "healthy" in comparison to many people with the same genetic illness and "only" needed two bone marrow transplants. Idk wtf I would do if I lost my insurance and developed something new and hundreds in the same boat.
Not sure if this thread has any point except to vent that medicine in the US is extremely fucked up especially for people with pre-existing conditions. Lots of support sessions for people worried about their future and what the current political climate means for them.
