So this conference was different to many reasons. But one thing that was remarkable was the clientele. Yes there were some pastors and that was great. But the majority of folks were layman/workers - farmers in overalls, nerdy looking software engineers, machinists, contractors...
...businessmen, musicians, etc. But what struck me is the amount of conversations I had with people looking to build something. Businesses, software platforms, networks, agencies, etc. It was remarkable how ready people are to get to work. And some of these guys...
...arent the type that are familiar with all the precise theological terms and nuances, but they are active in their churches and are looking to serve Christ in their lanes. They want to demonstrate their faith by their works and so they want to devote themselves to work.
This conference spoke of tons of spiritual things. But it spoke of spiritual things in a way that was clearly connected to what we have to do come Monday morning. No navel gazing, no nerfball nonsense about "9 ways to manage social media crisis in your safe spaces." ...
No goofball stuff. Just good full throated worship that you can take to the street with you.
