I am so happy that my mom is home after 15 days isolated in a hospital with Covid-19. I am also concerned that she's at home already, when her oxygen levels still have not stabilized.
It feels a little like pulling a person out of the ocean, getting them near the beach, and saying, "you're good, right? I gotta go back out to the depths."
The hospital that cared for my mom is being overrun with flu cases currently.
So, I'm concerned* about the real or fictional accounting that people are going to the hospital as a precaution.

*I'm many verbs about this.
I don't like to be alarmist, but it seems to me that we have, as a country, such a long, traumatic road ahead still, and we're kind of collectively shrugging our shoulders about it.
It is early October. Think about what it means that so many Covid patients are being discharged with medical supplies and tests to make room for flu patients. Please be as cautious as you have the power and resources to be. -b
