MD = physician
DO = physician
PharmD = pharmacist
DPT = physical therapist
DMD = dentist
PhD = professor/scientist/expert
PsyD = clinical psychologist
DNP = nurse
DPM = podiatist

They are all doctors.
Since #medtwitter is having the convo about who's a real "doctor" this seemed like a great time to remind everyone.
And as so many are pointing out, there are lots of others that I didn't mention - this list is not exhaustive! The point is there are lots of doctors in health care. MD/DO = physician and we'd do the public a service by being more precise in our language.
Also, I'm really sorry if I got your profession wrong (e.g., not listing both DDS & DMD) - please accept my apologies and I will RT your corrections!
I am begging people to PLEASE not turn this into a NP/PA debate. Not today - this tweet is not that.
Finally: DrPH is a major omission on the list b/c public health doctors are the doctors this nation NEEDS right now.
