Uniform criticism and double-standards: you just dislike Jennie
Criticism arose from Js portrayal of a nurse. Knetizens consider that her outfit is mocking a respected profession. I wonder if that’s what they’ve been feeling like since the beginning of kpop.
Is Js outfit truly a mere sexualization of a profession? Absolutely not. The outfit resembles to what a real nurse uniform looks like. Moreover, the portrayal of the profession does not come out of nowhere. It is directly related to the lyrics of the song.

The problem lies, I assume, on the fact that certain movements still wrongful claim that female sexualization results from women’s actions. It took J wearing an outfit that a thousand idols have used before for her to be signaled as the reason behind an ancient issue.
Knetizens believe that using uniforms for aesthetical purposes is wrong. Here we have a bunch of male idols doing it. I wonder whether they got criticized, too.
Porn industry is dirty, sexist, and there’s a portion of it relating certain professions and sex. Yes. But, since when it is a matter of what women wear or not? Since when are we blaming females for a problem originated and perpetuated by men? I’m disgusted.
Feminist organizations signaling females for an issue they should very well know goes well beyond an up-to-the-knee outfit makes my stomach turn. Males replicating that speech as if they had something to say about a situation THEY created fills me with anger.
I know fully well that you can recognize you faves in the pics. The purpose of this thread is not to attack them, but to point out double-standards. Is it only an issue when females do it?
Before you claim that there is a difference between female and male outfits: Aren’t male uniforms meant to flatter their figure, too? Don’t fans believe that uniforms are sexy? Why is it that males can be unapologetically free in their sexiness while women have to suppress it?
Or maybe it is only a problem when Jennie does it.
