htwa lyrics and how it relates to larry:
again, let me just start off by saying that these are MY personal interpretations of htwa, and also if you don’t like or support larry in any way, shape or form; then i kindly advise you to scroll and go on with your day without sending me hate. thank you
okay, first of all, let’s talk about how h’arry was the only member of 1D to write in the song (other than the writers that usually help with finishing touches).
this is the (assumed) time frame from when the song was written. this is only what we can assume since htwa was never officially released and put on the album. harry was almost 19 when take me home was released
it has been theorised by some people that htwa is about the “real l’ouis” being ‘half the world away’ from h because of that night at the gay club when L went to LA alone.
here’s a continuation from what’s above ^^
(i will be talking about this a little but further in the thread)

verse 1 & 2:
- the first verse initially tells a story that h was upset that someone close to him hurt him.
-the second verse gives crucial info that tells us that h isn’t exactly talking about a girl, & that what happened had obviously hurt him.

the chorus:
- a very important point here is that h wrote about a time where he was left behind and admits to his wrong doings
-like what the person in the pic below wrote, it seems as though h wrote about being “half the world away” from l, knowing that he’d “never be the same”.

verse 3:
- when hearing the line “now you rest everything on these three words” is assume that these three words mean “i love you”
-“now i walk to you ‘til my feet hurt” represents h ‘chasing after’ l (metaphorically)

verse 4:
- besides the whole larry theory in this thread, this verse is truly heartbreaking and just shows the raw and vulnerable emotions that h put into this song even though it does use an upbeat track that can make it seem happy and fun.

chorus:
- the chorus slightly changes second time round (first pic is 1st chorus, 2nd pic is the 2nd chorus)
-the second chorus is slightly adjusted by subtly removing the “cause you’re half the world away” so the bridge can have more of a bigger buildup for those listening

the bridge:
- it gets generally repetitive, which causes an affect that makes it seem like it’s a reoccurring question/thought

ending chorus:
- like most songs, it ends in the chorus
- with the chorus repeating twice at the end creates a vulnerable emotion (even though the song is upbeat, if you do listen to the lyrics properly, it is quite sad)
