If you live in Japan, maybe you’ve seen the Christian signs on bldgs/walls. Many have the character 神, or “God,” which is easily changed to read ネコ, meaning “cat.”

Some ppl actually paint them, others photoshop. Here are some that make me laugh (King James style):
“Believe in Cat with all thy heart”
“Cat doth also judge the sins of the heart.”
“The judgment of Cat cometh suddenly.”
“There is no other Cat but I (Jesus).”

(yes, photoshopped, but still)
“Fear and honor thy Cat.”
“The day of the righteous judgment of Cat is close at hand.”
“The kingdom of Cat is close at hand.”
“Go ye from idols to the true Cat.”
“Repent of thy attitude toward Cat.”
“Both earth and man are Cat’s.”
“Cat looketh upon the heart.”
“In the beginning, Cat created the heavens and the earth.”
To be precise, in this one a particle has actually been altered to make it say

“In the beginning were created Cat and the heavens and the earth.”

Both versions are excellent.
In case you’re wondering what’s up with the actual signs, here’s a great post about it from the venerable Japan blog Mutantfrog.
(Thanks @howtojapanese )

https://www.mutantfrog.com/2009/06/01/after-death-cometh-judgment-why-are-there-so-many-christian-signs-in-regional-japan/
“The world which hath cast aside Cat shall perish.”
“Acknowledge Cat.”
“Cat doth judge adultery and fornication.”
“Thy Cat is but one Cat.”
Slightly different but a great character alteration:

“Jesus Christ shall righteously slice fish.”

A play on the word “sabaku,” which can mean to judge and to cut up a fish, among other things.
“Humankind shall stand before Cat at the last day.”
“Cat doth punish sin.”
“Cat doth also watch thee in thy private life.”
“Obtain thee the forgiveness of Cat.”

(attributed to
The Cat Testament)
“Cat doth watch over the paths and works of man.”
Thanks for coming along on this spiritual journey :)

I hope no one was too offended—the actual signs and their history are pretty strident and aggressive, so my feeling is they're fair game for good-natured fun.

I might tack on new discoveries later.

Cat bless you all.
