1/ When I was just a teenager I started volunteering for a charity running holiday camps for children from Brum. We took these kids away to Wales as they wouldn’t normally get a summer holiday, & it was on these trips that I learnt so much about what I wanted to achieve in life.

2/ It really opened my eyes to the impact volunteering could have on peoples lives. These children, through no fault of their own, had been through some very unfortunate times & learning & interacting with them helped me develop a real sense of social responsibility & leadership.

3/I went on to lead these trips all the way up until my later career at JL. I’ve never really talked about this before but @expressandstar & @awaywithmedia did such a good job recently of taking me down memory lane I thought it was about time I shared my story & a very old photo!
