The episode kicks of with the first look at one of the "Fillars" which are the enemies of mankind.
Humans unable to harm them were trying their best to overcome the opponent but failed horribly thus had to look for some way to oppose such a threat that suddently apepared-

And then during the meeting of world leaders we learnt that the Pillars suddently appeared years ago and are a threat to mankind, sudden boy appears who calls himself a god.
His only reason for lending a help is that in tough times mankind will eventually seek the help of Gods.

Its very appearent that this guy is someone that you should not trust at all, but since mankind had no way to battle a mysterious threat then they had no choice but to accept the bestowed Valkryries upon them.
Odin is clearly an evil God that must have something up his sleeve-

The Vakryie gets send to aid the mankind in the battle against a certain pillar and demolishes it completly, however at the very cost of every other plane being killed in the process hence why the pilot will be called "Grim Reaper"
It should be noted that this may be Odin motive-

That even by aiding mankind his helping hand with Valkryries they are not really a good way of dealing against Pillars cuz as seen with Claudia, she mainly brings destruction and death to those she aids.
Which later becomes a self hatred for her.
Which later becomes a self hatred for her.
She is "Valkryrie of Salvation" however, she is not even close to that if the only thing she brings is death.
Thus she hates herself for that.
It is a common trope when characters needs to overcome some fear and idk if we could stretch that to compare to Shinji or Subaru.

Claudia Bruford gets reasigned to the other facility in Japan by the orders of her higher ups.
It is very weird since she wants to help others but by doing so only brings them harm, so in theory if she were to "help" other bases they might he destroyed sooner or later.

Enemy Pillar appears and she decides to fight it head on but alone so to not harm anyone but to Claudia's surprise a new "ally" appears that gives her a helping hand by fighting along side her althou she is not fond of this idea.
Once again the "Grim Reaper" is being repeated.

They fight a Fillar that quickly dissappears by using most of their energy.
It was the 2nd showcase of a dogfight in this episode and for me it looked really good, however do we really need this many?

After the fight Claudia reaches her destination the Tateyama Base, confrants the man in charge and gets a tour guide to show her the stuff who is the overactive and childish girl, Muguruma Miyako.
After this point the next 10 or so minutes are left with charas introduction.

Muguruma Miyako is the pilot of Red 44.
She is typical childish character who wants to get along with everyone and doesn't care in the slightest to what's been happening around.
She is trying to get very close to Claudia and even calling her Claudy.
Her type is the first to die.

Sonoka Watarai is the pilot of 72 and ppl call her "Pink"
She is even younger looking than the previous girls and introduces herslef in a very formal manner.
For me she is the least interesting on the bunch so far.

Azuzu Komagome is the leader of Valkryie and ppl call her "Anonym"
She is the tsundere of the bunch.
Always keeps talking, I'd say more than Miyako.
Her facial expression is priceless and shows that animators cared more for her than other girls at least so far.

After the introduction of the girls finishes we get into the talk about how weird is this base that they currently reside, with everyone being of completly different personalities, kids playing on the field as if it was a playground and overall not being fond of the war around.
We also learnt that other bases are also falling down which is not a very good sign.
The world is in a state of chaos but ppl seem not to care at least on the battlefield in Tateyama.
It is not a normal behaviour that they should have here.

Alarm sets off and the girls fly to battle the approaching Fillars, however they are unable to harm them fully cuz it appears as the enemy is underwater.
This is the 3rd dogfight showed in this episode and surely it looks great but the amount seems overwhelming.

Since the enemy is underwater they were thinking of an idea of fishing it.
The whole discussion felt ridiculous but ultimately panned out as the Hero Cannon flew from Miyako's plane and hit the Whale which enabled others to being able to somehow harm the Fillar.

We also get a little explanation on what a "Vandrande" is and its a Pillar's core.
So in other to defeat a Pillar, you need to find a core and then destroy it/slash it or anything, we later learnt what happens after doing that.
A little exposition on the Pillar's front.

And so they managed to reveal the true enemy hidden underwater and it turned out to be a Pillar that looks like a Whale.
Pillar was able to resupply their amount of "Ammo" and send more against our girls.
They came with a plan to take it down.

With the teamwork of 4 they manage to get through the Whale's armor to reveal the Vandra which was an orb thingy with some token in it and upon slicing it by Miyako it became a giant tree which made Claudia remember the past "Grim Reaper" experience.
Once again mentioned...
Once again mentioned...
A scene in her mind showed up which portrayed her and the Odin having a small conversation during which Odin reminds her that she is the Grim Reaper in the evil tone.
Odin is clearly showed as that manipulative guy or I have that feeling, I doubt her cares much for Claudia.

As the tree starts to grow and she remembers all the 20 minutes of screen time she spent with Miyako, she does not want her to die and the story to repeat
For me this may be a hint that something similliar may happen in the future episodes as the big theme is Cladia's self hatred

Miyako survives, Whale is defeated, Claudia gets welcomed fully in the Tateyama Base and the opening starts to play.
Honestly the episode was very long, like 47 minutes or so which was a good and bad thing but overall I felt like it was decent one.
Can't wait for plot twists

I Suck At Threads
I will do better later xD
It was more of a summary, rather than my opinion.
