I first came abroad from China in 2006. I’ve never read any positive article about China from MSM either. All I could see have been twisted reporting, contents taken out of context, fabricated stories, biased opinions. https://twitter.com/thecyrusjanssen/status/1312574758806974465
Many big-name media I once respected before I came here, such as the BBC, the Guardian, the Economist, etc....all have proven that the basic principles of journalism are out of the window when it comes to China.
You have the so-called China watchers who have never set a foot in China and could not speak a single sentence in Chinese, or China correspondents who have been living in China but still can’t speak the language.
They constantly copy each other’s reporting and feed the MSM with the same twisted sh*t to cater the public opinion which is also fostered by the anti-China rhetoric they’ve been promoting.
They paint a picture of China that is far from truth, they throw opinions on China that are unfair and biased. Yet the innocent public in the West would still largely unawarely accept it all without questioning. Who would be the biggest loser in all of these though?
The biggest loser would definitely be the West itself, especially the countries & people who have never thought about questioning any of it. Opportunities to prosper together with a fast-developing China will be lost on national level as well as on personal level.
