I AM WITHDRAWING FROM PUBLIC DISCUSSIONS ON PRESIDENT TRUMP TILL AFTER THE ELECTIONS IN NOVEMBER!
For the first time in my life I am publicly stopping myself from something I love and enjoy doing. That is public engagement on issues political and current.

Today I bow to pressure from my immediate family especially my 1st and estranged wife of over 30yrs Mrs Titilola Okupe, with whom I recently met and apologised for whatever ill she conceived I have done her over the years...
On which occasion we both willingly forgave one another without any prejudice to our current marital relationship.
She and some others pleaded passionately with me to please stop public discourse on President Donald Trump.
I do not agree with the reasons adduced but for peace to reign in my immediate family and with my adorable children, I took a decision to pass, on this discussions for now.

I also did this recognising the fact that I have never listened to members of my family before, on political issues or opinions which I hold on public affairs. But I have never forced my opinions or dispositions on any member of my family in the past.
My first son Ditan supported President Buhari and worked with Festus Keyamo for the elections.
I also realise that when crisis do come as they have severally in the past, only family and few very close associates and friends remain.

My position on President Trump is strictly based on my religious belief and on precepts I hold too dearly.
I have children and very close relations in the USA and they all disagree with me. But it never stopped me from holding on to and defending this position.

Also, unknown to many, this Trump administration has treated me personally unjustly.
My US Visa was withdrawn unjustly just on the pretext that I was standing trial for corruption. This was done in February 2019, the very month I was charged to court. I have not been pronounced guilty of any crime in any courts in Nigeria or indicted anywhere for that matter.
I mentioned this to associates who are very well connected in the Republican Party and the administration. They wanted to intervene but I strictly forbade such interventions.
I later got a letter from the American embassy asking me to represent my documents and court papers in my possession for their reconsideration.
I replied officially thanking the embassy for their kindness and opportunity given me, but I declined to forward any documents.

I said in my letter that I will rather wait till any time my case is decided before I will reapply.
So all these have been on ground but they never changed or affected negatively my support for President Trump, which clearly was based on very strong religious precepts and unbending Principles firmly rooted in the dictates of the Biblical Scriptures.
I thank all my friends who are Trump protagonists and wish all our antagonists friends the very best of luck.
