Let’s get this straight, I’ve had my fair share of SARS treatment. My offense ? Walking on the road and unknowingly obstructing their bus. They pulled me into their bus and... the story goes on. Did it scare me ? Yes. Do I like that this still goes on ? No. Am I against it ? Yes
The same pain and feeling of unfairness this brings you, I & women all over the world feel this everyday . EVERYDAY not just from SARS in Nigeria but MEN in general. Having to rethink where we pass, what we wear, what we say & how to do ANYTHING cause we’re trying to survive YOU
We’ve expressed this to you lot several times and y’all have stayed on the fence, insulted, laughed at, blamed us and trivialize our DAILY struggles. Yet you expect that when you’re the main target of your oppression, we should return you kindness and empathy ?? How ?
How don’t you see that our behavior is as a result of a seed you planted ? How don’t you see that you can’t plant tomatoes and harvest carrots. Just 2 weeks ago, y’all mocked, insulted & trivialized a system we’ve told you hurts us BADLY. We told you it hurt us but you continued
Today you’re being hurt and you expect empathy ?? Why ? Did you give me empathy when I needed it from you ? There’s no smoke without fire. Nobody wants y’all to be hurt by SARS. We can very much relate to your outrage cause that’s what being a woman is like. Living in fear
So no we’re not happy y’all are being hurt but if you laugh in my face when I’m sinking, I won’t offer you kindness when you are. If you really want to move forward, stand with us, empathize with us, hold each other accountable, stop hurting us and we’ll 100% offer you same.
