This thread will look at 652 European fowards in the top 5 leagues in the 19/20 season, along side with 2 versions of Edinson Cavani.
Due to him only having 605 minutes of game time last season, 18/19 Cavani will also be included.

This is mainly because Cavani doesn't engage in aerial duels and even when he does, his success rate is low.

This is by no means a perfect stat, considering that Cavani was usually brought on as a sub during his last 2 seasons. However, I believe that this is a good representation of his abilities inside the box.

Cavani is definitely a different type of striker. His prowess in the penalty box is elite, but he offers little outside of it. Ighalo has been frequently criticized for his inability to assist in linking play, and holding up the ball. Cavani will be no different.

I do think this is a decent signing. However, according to my methods, Edin Džeko is the best player in Europe when you account for every one of these metrics. If he was available, he should've been our number 1 choice
If anyone is interested, these are the strikers in Europe that would've best suited our needs.
By no means is this a perfect way to measure a player's ability. I will look to refine my methods and improve on this in the future. Any feedback/criticism will be gladly accepted.
