A reminder that @UncommonSchools - architects of SLANT, silent corridors, no excuses - have dropped the approach because of its impact on disadvantaged pupils. Thereâs an evidence base here that the behaviour hub programme must not ignore. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.tes.com/news/us-no-excuses-pioneers-relax-school-discipline%3famp

âMembers of our community have shared feedback around school culture and discipline policies to change.â
âWe have heard the negative experiences that some current and former students and staff shared on social media, which is far from what we stand for or what we expect.â
âIt is imperative that our students feel seen, heard, valued, and loved.â
âWith that in mind, we would like to share details on some of the changes we are making for the 2020-21 school year and beyond.â
âStudent-teacher relationships create the caring and nurturing environment in which our scholars can thrive. However, as we have reflected, we want to acknowledge that we did not always invest enough time and build strong enough systems to ensure that this belief was prioritizedâ
âFinally, we heard from our students, families, staff, and alumni that we need a greater focus on socioemotional well-being, always and especially during this timeâ
Training will now focus on ârelationship-building, culturally responsive teaching, and emotional resilience.â
