The "in case you missed it" rundown of the #Baxendale drama:

Rachel Baxendale somehow managed to land herself a job as a political reporter, no doubt due to her LNP connections to such high profile shitweasels like Tim Smith and other IPA toadies out to undermine the efforts of
the Andrews government to contain a monster situation with the covid outbreak in Victoria.

During Premier Dan Andrews' pressers, Baxendale has become public nuisance number one for her Olympic level skill in asking redundant questions and being the reporter on the ground for
Australia's own conspiracy theorist/QANON/Army of Karen paranoiac patriots.

One of her most recent journalistic gifts was her "esoteric" question to Andrews about whether or not one has to wear a mask if they are out walking in regional victoria and there's nobody else within
one square kilometer of you. Obviously, this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, because the Premier was having none of her shit and fired back with #WhatsTheIssueRachel? And faster than you can say "masks make it hard to breathe" https://www.pedestrian.tv/news/dan-andrews-shut-down-rachel-baxendale-meme/
Rachel herself became a meme that would have any self-respecting person rethinking their life choices. Not Rachel. Rachel doubled down.

Her next attempt at taking down Andrews during a presser involved more vague questions, but this time she would come back to twitter
feeling vindicated by writing up a transcript of her interaction with the Premier and inserting previously not-present words into the document that would change the background for the line of questioning. https://twitter.com/rachelbaxendale/status/1310786144984948736?s=20
Instead of Andrews not taking her shit this time round, twitter decided to take her to task and point out that this is not how an honest person would approach journalism, then again, there are likely half-talented hacks out there that would have re-thought that particular
decision instead of moving forward.

The problem with Baxendale is partly her being completely sloppy with the facts, and her utterly bizarre questioning that panders to the yobs and bogans crying about lockdown being illegal. It's also partly due to her being so brazenly
sporting an agenda that is so far to the right that if she leaned a little she'd probably bump elbows with Cottrell and co. There's no neutrality, it's completely hostile questioning. It's not something we should be surprised about, considering she is basically writing for
The Australian, which we know is the publication for Australia's white nationalists, conspiracy theorists, and LNP/One Nation voting malcontents.

There's a reason why people are constantly tweeting #ThisIsNotJournalism whenever she posts one of her

https://www.theaustralian.com.au/author/Rachel+Baxendale
intentionally divisive screeds to twitter: it's because it's absolutely not journalism.

It's propaganda from the PMO and questioning from Murdoch and Rinehart's conservative (polite way of saying fascist) "think" tank The IPA.

What more should we expect from
the same group that hired Lauren "I'm no longer a white supremacist (but I'm totally in Australia to make fash trendy again)" Southern.

Next time Baxendale takes a break, maybe she should consider sports journalism?
