When women are raped and harassed, it is normal that a lot of men ask what she wore, why she went out late. Some even say we need to hear the abuser’s part of the story. Now SARS is killing mostly men & men see a problem with the same logic they use to justify rape.

Now, men see how it feels to be harassed because you look a certain way. Now, we know how it feels to lose a loved one to abuse. Now, men realize how it feels to live in terror. While this might sound insensitive, Sometimes reverse psychology is only way to teach people empathy.

My heart goes out to everyone who’ve lost their loved ones to this SARS thuggery. I pray that we all have sense now. Just like you now know it’s stupid to profile a young man because he’s dressed a certain way, it’s wrong to harass a woman because of the way she dresses.

Hundreds of girls and women die every week because of gender abuse. Sadly, men are to women what SARS is to men. They actually attack mostly men. I pray that we grow in empathy as these things play out, showing us that abuse can never be justified.

As we join our voice speaking against this SARS madness. May we not drop this common sense when women are raped and killed by men, let’s trend the hashtags and never justify rape with how she dressed and whatnot. #EndSARS
