It's not that GOT7 fandom isn't big, it's just that it's not big enough for its varied demographic. Meaning, it's split between platforms of music consumptions. A group on apple music, group on youtube, group on spotify etc. It's split in between platforms
the streamers aren't loud for you to see it, but because it's a fandom full of adults, you don't get them multitask on the streaming platform, so they stick to whichever is convenient. Like I myself stream a lot on itunes/apple music and occasionally switch to youtube.
I don't have spotify because the app does't work on my old macbook seemingly. So majority of my streams goes to apple music, while to some they're more dominant on youtube. Due to this, all bases are covered, but not in big numbers, it's still big compared to a lot in industry.
But to break heavy record, then more fans are needed for all platforms to do so. It is not that nobody is streaming, it's everyone streaming on one or two platforms and not all, which indicate that people do enjoy the music and only do it on their very convenient platform.
And because majority of these fans who do stream are either in locked acct or staying out of core fandom problems/ troubles, you don't see them. They have account to keep up with fandoms and G7's activities, but don't interact. They go to locked acct with a few close friends.
They also lack a lot of young fans who uses youtube (free) and spotify (free or student discounts). Apple music require payment, they don't have a freemium system like the rest. You either buy the music, or you subscribed to a student discounts or full cost account.
So the young fans who don't have money for such subscription will go to platform that has freemium account. And Asia/SEA uses youtube a lot!
And how do you get young fans to join the fandom?... wait for it... contents...which we lack. Ha ha ha.
