I just realised not many people can understand Korean names (especially if you're not from East Asian background) so here's a thread explaning Hospital Playlist character names ✨
Disclaimer: I may be wrong because I got the information from the Chinese/Hanja character which is not released in the show. But it can provide some understanding to how some characters were named 🤷‍♀️

Please correct me if I'm wrong hehe
Korean names are made up of a surname + given name. There are no middle names in Korean names.

Most Korean names are usually derived from Chinese characters (hanja) and are usually 2-4 characters long. However, some Korean names are derived from pure native Korean words.
The surname is usually the first character of the name (eg Kim 김) but sometimes (more rarely), they can be two letters (eg Hwangbo 황보).

The given name is usually one to two characters although there is no limit.

Ahn Jeong-won 안정원
Ahn - surname
Jeong-won - given name
Officially, most people will add a hyphen or a space to indicate that the words are separate letters (e.g. Jeong-won/Jeong Won) but usually im too lazy and will just lump them together --> Jeongwon
↳ Ahn Jeong-won 안정원
Hanja: 安政源
Jeong: Political affairs
Won: Source

However, Jeongwon here can also mean Garden (庭園). There are characters/phrases in Korean that mean different things at the same time.
↳ Lee Ik-jun 이익준
Hanja: 李翊晙
Ik: Respectful/Wise
Jun: Morning/Bright

Ikjun seems like a less common name to me than Jeongwon and I think the name meaning suits his character a lot haha.
↳ Chae Song-hwa 채송화
Hanja: 蔡頌和
Song: To praise
Hwa: Even/Gentle

This is another name that means something totally different. Chaesonghwa actually means Portulaca (type of flower) In fact, Korean fans actually found what her name might be suggesting

↳ Yang Seok-hyung 양석형
Hanja: 楊碩亨
Seok: Big/Faithful
Hyung: Prosperity/To give

Also what made me start this thread. Seokhyung's name is pretty accurate to his character too me thinks
↳ Kim Jun-wan 김준완
Hanja: 金雋婠
Jun: Intelligent/Outstanding
Wan: Pretty

Junwan's name actually used quite obscure hanja characters - not too sure if it is because of the meaning but he is pretty intelligent HAHAHAA
(lemme know if you want me to do for other characters)
