Man fuck Daniel Cameron and it’s bold as fuck for Megan to call him out like that but.....the framing of negroes selling their own into slavery is wayyyyy more complicated than that.

For starters there was no uniform “negroes” or “Blacks” identity Africa the way there is now. There were a multitude of sovereign kingdoms and nations, no more loyal to each other than France and Germany would be.

Second, the sale of captives to Europeans is interlocked with colonial violence. The so called sale was quite often closer to extortion.

I respect Tamika Mallory and, of course, Meghan, but this narrative is often used to absolve European colonialism of responsibility in the destruction waged on the African continent and cast Blacks as inferior complicit in our own oppression. It should not be repeated.

THAT BEING SAID: Daniel Cameron is WORSE than this comparison, because he has more power, autonomy and historic context. He is a demon. The worst of the worst.
