PS/ Trump does nothing he doesn't want to do. He owns his doctors. The White House is well-equipped to handle his illness. The story being told now via "leaks" is some bizarro rewrite of a man not wanting his real condition to leak and knowing it won't from a military hospital.
PS2/ Trump is a man who's spent his life abiding in colossal weakness, and having to construct a technicolor fantasyland just to hide that fact from the world. This illness is his nightmare, and he's punishing America with an insane tsunami of nonsense to keep from being "seen."
PS3/ Trump has spent a lifetime telling doctors and lawyers what to do—not the other way around. Only a (false) claim from his doctors that they *couldn't* treat him anywhere *but* Walter Reed would have convinced him, and there's no evidence they would ever dare to lie to him.
PS4/ We know that on Friday Trump was—understandably—scared. He felt vulnerable. He knew press were in the building. He'd successfully used Walter Reed to hide conditions in the past, and he knew the media couldn't get to him there. There's every reason to think he wanted to go.
PS5/ The idea that, on Friday, a 74-year-old with an untreatable deadly illness, 3+ co-morbidities, a very high fever, dropping oxygen levels, unstable vitals, and vocally afraid for his life was refusing to go to a safe, secure, classified hospital for presidents is *insane*.
PS6/ Further, the White House says that this 74 year-old with multiple co-morbidities is—just 48 hours into his illness—ready to get back to work. Folks, this is the North Koreans saying Kim Jong Il shot a 38-under-par 34. This illness takes *weeks* to get through, if it happens.
PS7/ I think that many people in media who have reported on but (apparently) never done any *research* on COVID-19 appear to actually believe it's like the flu—something maybe you can beat in 5-10 days. No. Trump will be suffering from this through the election, or faking health.
PS8/ From the moment he got sick with a deadly untreatable illness that especially kills those 70+ with co-morbidities, Trump's life was literally in mortal danger. It still is. That we're hearing stories about him coming "out of the woods" in 48-72 hours is North Korean-tier BS.
PS9/ I hate having to be like, "I WROTE A BOOK ABOUT THIS," but if I *don't*, people think I'm spitballing or being a partisan. No. I'm terrified of this virus because I *researched it for months*. People need to take it seriously and take the danger Trump is in *very* seriously.
PS10/ Any news story that accepts the White House's tsunami of bullshit on Trump's condition is endangering the nation by downplaying the danger of this virus to the average American. Does Trump have the advantage of the best medical care in the world? Yes. Do most Americans? No.
PS11/ If Trump pulls through this—which I hope he does, so he can lose his job in November and be indicted next year—it'll be because he's getting better care than *any human on Earth*. It won't be because of his genes, his courage, or the virus bowing to his imaginary manliness.
PS12/ So what's called for now is journalists exhibiting restraint—publishing only the minimum viable content coming out of the Trump camp—not giant headlines on CNN (as big as when he fell ill in the first place) adopting wholesale whatever fairytale Team Trump just whipped up.
