Look, I& #39;m all for a better environmental policy, but I just don& #39;t think turning ourselves over to a bunch of self-flagelating modern Cistercians is the way to go. Traditional "environmentalists" embrace only reduction and castigate abatement. This approach will not work.
Now, why am I using hyperbole? Frankly, because it& #39;s easy. At their extremes, they want no meat, no petroleum, and no emissions. And they serve up a healthy dose of original-sin-worthy guilt for a modern lifestyle. All those restrictions? Bull shit of the most choice variety. 2/
Now, that we& #39;ve inadequarly thumbnailed their positions, let& #39;s deal with reality. Markets cum regulation can fix this issue, but we have to delve a little deeper into both the problems and solutions to treat it fully. Let& #39;s start with power generation and transportation. 3/
