Look, I'm all for a better environmental policy, but I just don't think turning ourselves over to a bunch of self-flagelating modern Cistercians is the way to go. Traditional "environmentalists" embrace only reduction and castigate abatement. This approach will not work.
Now, why am I using hyperbole? Frankly, because it's easy. At their extremes, they want no meat, no petroleum, and no emissions. And they serve up a healthy dose of original-sin-worthy guilt for a modern lifestyle. All those restrictions? Bull shit of the most choice variety. 2/
