We didn't have the influence that corporate $$ has. The system is set up to discourage participation and instead rewards the largest donors. We were a small group of people who saw an opportunity to help 2/5

those with disabilities who want to work and decrease dependency on SSI. They made us jump through numerous hoops only for us to eventually realize they didn't care how much bipartisan support the bill had. Our voices were muted.3/5

Following that experience, I decided to only support those legislators who had the audacity to demand the voice of ALL people determine how our government governs. John is one of those people. He is courageous, honest and authentic. He doesn't mold his views 4/5

around only the priorities of the wealthy. He also won't be a rubber stamp for either political party. He's a genuinely nice guy who wants to be part of the solution and is not afraid to roll up his sleeves and work hard. 5/5
