These surveillance tools are also incredibly ableist - think about autistic, blind, and other disabled people whose eye movements are atypical and will be flagged as suspicious; or people with ADD, Tourette's, or cerebral palsy, who won't move the mouse or keys typically either. https://twitter.com/fightfortheftr/status/1312476588349386752
And of course the ableism, classism, and racism in assuming people have access to a room that's quiet where they can be alone, for an entire exam. (Especially ones like the bar exam at 6 hours at a time.) People have support workers, roommates, aging parents, children, cousins...
But the AI software won't pick up on class, race, and disability related reasons that plenty of people might not have a space they can be alone and without background noise.
Not to mention this is creepy as fuck. And while it's meant for tests, the fact that it now exists means its underlying program can be redeployed in contexts where it will pose much more immediate threat to people's lives and safety. Surveillance is a tool of criminalization.
