There’s a social media moment occurring now among celebrities and influencers, big and small:

They’re traveling or promoting travel. It’s not coincidental, that much is apparent in their brazenness. The fact that they, and media outlets, detail how exactly also shows intent.
While they are careful to state social distancing and “disinfecting” methods being observed, what’s curious about this is a) a seeming endorsement from the police and local gov’t, and b) a non-mention of its exclusivity to the upper middle and upper classes.
This is an obvious attempt to encourage tourism and business. Curiously, notice that it began when the Manila Bay Sands issue blew up.

Thank you. This is not a TED Talk but a reminder that we are pawns as long as we are unaware.
Look at how non-committal this strategy is. They won’t say that the PH is open for tourists but they also won’t say it’s closed. It’s an insidious kind of messaging that more or less sets hardline measures aside and tosses all accountability away. Kung bumiyahe ka, kasalanan mo.
