I think I’ve told this story before but the Dodgers were my Grandma’s team. When she was dying, my mom asked if she’d rather watch the Dodgers or Giants on TV.

“Giants,” she said.

My mom thought the end was near until she finished the sentence. “I just love to watch ‘em lose.”

So that’s what I inherited from Jane. A soft spot for the Dodgers and an endless supply of pettiness
