Growth Mindset Features of Sikhi ⚔️

[ thread ]
1. SELF-KNOWLEDGE

Guru Amar Das Ji writes

ਮਨ ਤੂੰ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਹੈ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥

Which (loosely) translates to:

"O my mind, you are the embodiment of the creator, recognize your own origin"

The first step is to invest our energy into self-discovery.

This is our foundation
2. DAILY ACTION

Once we have diverted our attention from the outside world inward, we dedicate every day to our personal development i.e our "Nitjang".

Nitjang means "our daily battle" as we are programmed to take the easy way out and self-growth takes warlike effort.
3. OPTIMAL HABITS

Daily habits define who we are. The Khalsa gives us a framework (Rehat Maryada) that keeps us focused & on track.

Staying in Rehat inherently induces growth e.g:

- No alcohol keeps the mind sharp
- No smoking keeps the body healthy
- The list goes on...
4. EMBRACE REALITY

We let go of the things that we can't control and focus only on the most optimal action we can take in the present moment, accepting both positive and negative outcomes for what they are.

This is living in Hukam and embracing our reality.
5. ARMY OF ONE

The concept of "Sava Lakh" is ingrained in our people.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji boldly stated that one of his warriors would engage battle with the valor of 125'000 soldiers.

This is how we approach life, with the "Sava Lakh" mindset, independent & self-sufficient.
6. FREEDOM IS A MUST

There is no debate. Sovereignty (Azaadi) is built into the DNA of the Sikh.

The first level of Azaadi is financial independence.

- Master the art of money management
- Spend less than you earn
- Invest the rest
- Owe no bad debt
- Donate liberally
7. WE MANIFEST

"Ardaas" is a built-in feature of the daily Sikh lifestyle.

We start and end every endeavor with an Ardaas willing our thoughts into existence through Gurprasad.

The Ardaas allows us to express our gratitude & manifest our desired outcomes.
8. IT'S ALL IN THE MIND

Guru Nanak Dev Ji writes

ਮਨ ਜੀਤੇ ਜਗ ਜੀਤ ||

"Conquer YOUR mind, conquer YOUR world"

Meditate on this truth daily.

Let it guide your journey.
