I deleted my last QT because I didn't want to talk over the OP.

Lately the word "sus" has made a comeback in gaming circles and it's a word y'all should take out of your vocabulary.
Sus, short for suspect or suspicious was coined by my generation, Gen X around the mid to late 1980s, It was used as a way to out or at the very least call into question the lack of adherence to gender norms of Black folk who were suspected of being queer
Black men who didn't exhibit the telltale signs of accepted hyper masculinity in particular were routinely called this harmful word.
I can't speak to what is was like as this slur spread across the country but here in Brooklyn, If you were a Black person who wasn't into "traditionally" Black things, pastimes, forms of expression or gender norms, being called this word was a daily occurrence.
If you've never heard this word used as a pejorative chances are you're young, have no Black friends or family or haven't had the misfortune of being around very homophobic people
Remember that words mean things and yeah I get it, the word s*s might mean different things in different parts of the country/world but it would still be beneficial to you and others to acknowledge that this word can be used to harm and act accordingly
It doesn't take much to eliminate a word from your every day speech and substitute something else
