Look what the Ottomans/Turks did to #Jerusalem 105 yrs ago. Why they lost it and have no claim on it today.
Picture I found in the @OttomanArchive. Looting Jerusalem residents and forced conscription.

Picture I found in Australian Army archives - picture of the hanging of Jews and Arabs photographed by a German officer in Jerusalem

Look what the Ottomans/Turks did elsewhere in the Holy Land 105 yrs ago. Why they lost it and have no claim on it today.
The Jaffa district was ruled by Turkey's governor, Hassan Bey. I found these pics of the "Tyrant of Jaffa" in the US Lib or Congress.
4/
What did the Turkish Gov. Hassan Bey do in Jaffa? He built a mosque between Jaffa and Tel Aviv, using Jewish gravestones.
5/ Never forget that the Turks exiled some 6,000 Jews from Jaffa in 1914-15. They were evacuated by the
@USNavy to Egypt. Turks started the forced exile of Jews again in 1917, thousands died.
Palestine would have been judenrein if not for 2 German generals commanding the Turks.
6/ Two commanding officers of the German command of the Turkish Army rejected the Turkish orders to exile the Jews of Palestine and to do to the Jews what the Turks had done to the Armenians.
Gens Erich Van Falkenhayn and Kress von Kressenstein. Pics of both with Turkish Pashas.
7/ Haunting pics of life of Jews in Jerusalem under the Turks, photographed by a German soldier (UK war archives). Jews were poor, sick, starving.
Why no young Jewish men? Either incarcerated, conscripted, dead, or fled.
The German caption: Jer'm "merchants." (Like "of Venice?")
8/ As hard as it is for @RTErdogan to fathom, here are pics of Turkey's surrender of #Jerusalem in 1917.

1: Turkish troops from area gathering in the Old City via Jaffa Gate before retreat.
2: The actual surrender of the city . Turks had already bugged out.
3: surrender letter.
* circled in top left of Jaffa Gate is "Bezalel." The art school built a souvenir shop there.
