this adhd awareness month please remember that adhd comes in all forms! adhd includes everything from not being able to focus on things we aren't interested in to having issues with emotions! adhd also commonly goes hand in hand with depression and anxiety when it's untreated
most characters w/ adhd in common media are shown as inattentive/overtalkative/hyperactive and while that may be true for some of us it in no way reflects all of us! people with adhd arent inherently inattentive, we just have issues focusing on things we're not interested in
for example, focusing on class is hard when it's for a subject i'm not interested in, and i'll find myself spacing out. other times, when i'm doing my own research on something i enjoy, i'll get so fixated on it i'll lose track of time
people with adhd have problems with organization & starting on tasks, ESPECIALLY ones we don't like. for me, it's very very hard to do tasks such as cleaning my room because i won't know how to get started. we also have issues with priorities
if you'd like to know i really really recommend the site https://adhdawarenessmonth.org/  ! it's made by experts on adhd and has facts, common myths, comics, & more all for/about adhd!
also please dear god keep in mind that you cannot tell whether or not someone has adhd... if you see a quiet girl who pays attention in class and knows the answers to the questions she could have adhd! there is no way of knowing if a stranger has adhd unless they tell you
OO OO another thing is that adults have adhd too! adhd is not a curable thing and it will stay with you for your entire life. adhd is also incredibly underdiagnosed for adults because many doctors still operate under the idea that only preteen hyperactive boys can have adhd
