When I was younger, I went to live on island off Scotland with my boyfriend, before kids. The pace of life was slow, there was a 'it'll get done when it's done' mentality. People looked out for one another and everywhere closed on Sundays. All the stuff we seem
to spend our lives rushing around for was hugely reduced. Weekends and after work were spent outdoors in nature, on the ocean or relaxing at the pub. I thrived there.
When I returned to my home town near Manchester it took me years to readjust.

Autistics have coped pretty well with being locked down and are now struggling to adapt to the outside world again. A mum of an autistic child in my class articulated this to me this week, as my head can't understand why he can't now tolerate the lunch hall. He thinks this child
Has been molly coddled too much at home these past months.
It's important for us in education to realise that when Autistics 'regress', their Autism hasn't changed, just their ability to mask or cope.
