Theory time:

Since we now FP2 will involve characters with crazy and mind bending mechanics new to Smash, I want to theorize what kind of characters we could expect based on what could break the mold. (This is gonna be an unnumbered thread so be prepared, not that it matters.)
Min Min: A character from Arms that introduced insane range across the board. This character focuses on reach from across/most of the stage, with specials to accommodate both arms, like that of a boxer (excluding Little Mac).
Steve and Co.: A character that manipulates the very earth beneath their feet to help aide them in fights. Their materials enhance their combat potential and overall milage varies from stage to stage. I have never seen a character where a stage has been so crucial to them.
So we have a character with insane reach that strikes like a boxer, and a character that takes from the stage to really give them a boost in combat. From what I can infer, @Sora_Sakurai is taking staple elements of Smash and breaking the mold. ありがとございます!
What are elements that I think are presently in Smash that could be enhanced upon or broken? Upon thinking I think of the following

-A fighter that changes how they play mid battle
-A fighter that boasts great defense/low knock back unless requirements are met.
-A jack of all trades type that allows multiple styles of attack (close combat, multihit, ranged).
-A fighter that has a different flow to their playstyle (combo game/stream of attacks)

There are a number of more that probably don’t come to mind at all, but let’s focus on these.
Based on these archetypes, I wanna go one by one on the categories and how they could work.
1. Changing how they play:

-Rex, switching between Pyra and Mythra to affect different attack attributes (Aegis could be in the semi-foreground like the crafting table and possibly hurt Rex if attacked)

-Dante/MH with different weapons for different smash attacks.
2. Fighter with high defense unless exposed/whatnot:

-Dr. Eggman with attacking in the Egg Mobile. An iconic villain in gaming with great attack power and defense, but if exposed or kicked out of mobile, he could be very vulnerable.

-Master Chief with a weak spot in head/back.
1. Offering multiple attack styles

Could also be Dante or MH but...

-2B could have both weapon variety and combo potential. Weapons for short/long range, Pod multi fire, 9S hack.

-Ammy can use the Celestial Brush in addition to Reflector, Beads, and Glaives for smash attacks.
4. Flow. Only one I can think about.

-Sora could take staple moves from Kingdom Hearts (Strike Raid, Sonic Blade, Ars Arcanum, Flowmotion), and combine them to offer unique followups and astounding frame data in exhange for attack power and defense. I believe he’d be glass.
The last mentioned may be the most simple of the fighter, but it all boils down to what Sakurai-San takes from the fighters game of origin and incorporates it into Smash. I have faith in him. Even if its a character I don’t particularly want, he does a great job making them fun.
