some context for how big a deal all of this is: 1) already, this is almost certainly the biggest immediate health scare a sitting president has faced since reagan got shot in 1981, which was 39 years ago. (thread)
2) if he dies, trump would be the first president to die in office since JFK, who died in 1963 (57 years ago).
and finally 3) if he dies he would also be the first president to die in office without being assassinated since FDR, who died in 1945 (75 years ago).
so either way this is one of the more significant moments in american history, and there's a somewhat decent chance that it will become a lot more significant very soon.
for a change, the "cool zone" is living up to its name in a good way, in that this moment will be cool to read about decades and centuries from now, but also be extremely cool to live through at the same time.
i honestly can't remember the last time i was this happy and excited for more than a few hours straight. thank you covid, for at least temporarily curing my depression. 🙂 (end thread)
