A few random facts about . @GenFlynn and the Logan Act.

Barnett was told there was a potential Logan Act violation on Jan 4th, 2017.
Barnett’s closing was authorised by Joe Pientka.
Mary McCord first learned of the Flynn Investigation in a telephone call with Andy McCabe on Jan 3rd, 2017.

If what McCabe says is true, that they just discovered the Flynn/Kislyak calls, then why was Barnett told to close the investigation on the 4th ?
McCord’s notes indicate it was Bob Litt that raised the Logan Act violation.
Those aware at the time (Jan 3rd) were Clapper, Litt, Baker,Anderson and McCabe.
Priestap made the call not to brief Trump.
McCord got the call transcripts from Strzok sometime between Jan 15-19 and her recollection is that Flynn raised sanctions.

The published transcripts do not show this.

(which goes to my earlier speculation that Strzok provided the DOJ with altered transcripts 😉)
Sally Yates said it was Comey who raised the Logan Act in the White House meeting on Jan 5th, 2017.
Yates learned that McCord and George Toscas had been briefed about this by the FBI on Jan 4th. (but McCord swore she learned this from McCabe in the 3rd).
Yet neither McCord nor Toscas said anything to Yates until she asked them on the 5th 🤔
Strzok’s notes of the Jan 5th White House meeting indicate that it was Vice President Biden that raised the Logan Act.
Lisa Page’s Jan 4th email to Jim Baker cites the legal statute for the Logan Act.
Which leaves a couple of questions ...

- why was Barnett tasked to close the investigation on the 4th, the day after the FBI “discovered” the Flynn/Kislyak calls (the 3rd) that supposedly raised the mention of sanctions and thereby a violation of the Logan Act ?
- Did Strzok falsify the transcripts to include the word “sanctions” ?

- who was the first person to raise the Logan Act ?
My money is on her 👇🏻
