The only thing we should feel for the people who knew more about the virus than anyone, and who downplayed it for political gain, and who openly flouted rules to fight it, and who mocked those who followed the rules, and who contracted it, and who lied about that, is sympathy.

We *must* feel sympathy for the people who lied about everything and mocked their opponents for caring and went golfing while people got sick and died and laughed at people who wore masks and claimed they were doing a great job and knowingly exposed people to the virus. We must!

We must put aside our negative feelings toward people who actively wished us harm, who didn't even take action early on because the virus was only affecting "blue states," who scream at us and mock us for wearing masks and washing our hands even as they do neither. We must!
