FYI caste is a way more fundamental and sinister social marker than class in india...those belonging to lower economic classes most often have intersecting identities as lower caste/Dalit identities. it is not an extension of a class identity it is one of the main causes for it
equating it to a kind of class oppression is highly inaccurate and reduces the baggage attached to it. do not try to explain what it is by comparing it to the class system those comparisons will not always make sense. the systemic and structural discrimination that racism causes
in countries like the USA is a much more similar system. though these work in different ways and in different locations, if you can understand the kind of socio-economic and cultural oppression that a black person goes through then you can definitely understand caste
and how it works in the oppression of the majority of Indians
