Let’s be clear about on thing in #Lebanon: the only accurate databases are rakam al sejel and voters lists. No other comprehensive database exists in #Lebanese. At the same time, no accurate comprehensive databases for #Syrians or #Palestinians refugees in #Lebanon.
Each municipality might know the no of residents from taxation records, but again this depends on the size &efficiency of the municipality.they might have the no of households rather than each resident. Since February, MoPH started publishing +cases according to rakem al sejel
Municipalities used to/still receive names of + cases before the patients even. But this issue was contained because tracking efforts were taking efforts by MoPH &municipalities & testing was mostly done in public hospitals that asked to fill information regarding residency.
Now, no of tests in private clinics and hospitals increased exponentially. They are asking for IDs only. With the spread in pandemic, the government introduced a new platform which locks-down villages according to the no of +cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 15 days.
So, did they survey more than 1000 municipality in one week? Did they account for the residents and registered inhabitants? Let’s take Burj Brajneh as example. It has original inhabitants, local migrants (south&bekaa) &a Palestinian camp. How are they recording the numbers there?
The municipalities that will be locked-down starting tomorrow are the ones in the red zone (more than 8 cases in the last 2weeks). Starting tomorrow, more than 10% of the municipalities will be locked-down.
