Just watched ‘American Murder: The Family Next Door’ on Netflix. What a sad and frightening documentary. It’s scary how we can never really know what people are capable of. The violence so many women face at the hands of their partner is terrifying.
*Spoiler Alert*

Chris Watts smothered his pregnant wife Shanann, and his two daughters (aged 4 & 3) because he was having an affair with a coworker, and wanted a new life. He buried his wife’s body near the oil site he worked at, and dumped the body of his kids in an oil tank.
Throughout the investigation he stated he didn’t know where his family was and even agreed to take a polygraph test. He failed the test. He then admitted to killing his wife, but claimed he killed her because she killed the kids when he told her he wanted to leave. SMDH.
Eventually he pleaded guilty to killing his entire family, so he could avoid the death penalty.

The documentary ended with this:

“In America three women are killed by their current or ex partner every day”.

“Parents who murder their children and partner are most often men”.
‘American Murder: The Family Next Door’ shook me to my core. Rest peacefully Shanann, Bella and Cece 🕊💛
