Proud Boys are planning to march through New Albany, Ohio today, under the pretext of sticking it to the "wealthy elitists and corporations" who fund Biden. And Facebook, which has a data center here. I wonder if they've looked at the voting demographics of New Albany, Ohio much.
This is the map from 2016. The blue is misleading. It includes my neighborhood which is an outlier (less wealthy than the rest; more diverse) and schools/stores apartments which don't have many people. All that red includes the "wealthy neighborhoods" they plan to march through.
Here it is compared to the rest of the city. Columbus, in general, is very blue. They would be hard pressed to find a place in the city/suburbs more conservative than this, yet here they will be.
It's a different kind of conservative here, of course. More "stinking rich, lower my taxes at all costs" and less Trump cult. And, on my recent walks, I'm noting more Biden signs in the rich neighborhoods than I ever would've expected. Trump is losing a chunk of even these folks.
To the extent he's losing them, I suspect it's because this white nationalist element turns them off (they're racist, but they don't think they are and they don't like the reminders I suspect). So a march down their street probably won't help.
The notice says where and when they're meeting and suggests their route. Based on that, it is likely that my neighborhood will be the first one they see. It contains no "rich corporatists" or whatever they're targeting, but they probably don't know that.
My house is, also, right near the entrance to the neighborhood and I have some signs out front which make it pretty clear where I stand.

Feel like a beer and a baseball bat on the front porch is in order this afternoon.
