Why is #DalitLivesMatter important and why #Dalitwomenlivesmatter is even more so.

A THREAD:
Who are Dalits?
Dalit, meaning "broken/scattered" in Sanskrit and Hindi, is a term used for people belonging to castes in India who have been subjected to untouchability. Dalits were excluded from the four-fold varna system of Hinduism and were seen as forming a fifth varna.
The above sentence was literally from Wikipedia. These are people who own an alter name, i.e untouchables.

Why were they called untouchables?
They were treated extremely badly, almost like animals. Their main occupations were servants to the landlords and for other castes. -
They were treated so differently that they were not allowed to look at their "master's" face. They faced this until people like B. R. Ambedkar and many others came to their rescue. hence reservation seats in India for schools and workplaces were introduced-to break the stereotype
tw: rape / murder
I wont dwell into the matter but in short, two Dalit Women were gang raped- (two different places)
One was burned and the other committed sui*ide.

Rape has been an important issue in India and right now we are all standing against this bullshit.
