Per previous thread, there's a significant gap in evangelical theology irt sickness, weakness, chronic illness, etc. I've got to believe that this is part of the reason we see such cavalier responses to a global pandemic.
If people don't have a theology of human fraility, if they have functional prosperity gospel, weakness is akin to sinfulness. So that acknowledging weakness in anyway, including adhering to safety protocols, is a sign of spiritual immaturity.
If you're pastoring individuals or congregation thru this moment, please be aware that there's more going on than politics. That's only presenting symptom. More likely, you're looking at Qs of how we understand weaknessness, human vulnerability, & a larger spiritual meritocracy.
