/10 Obviously I'm not in Brussels today for the @BelgianBara meeting so I thought I would do a quick intro to periop #POCUS for lung & ultrasound to accompany the lecture #BARA2020
/10 So why should we all embrace lung #pocus - first off it's relatively easy to learn - after 25-30 scans learner accuracy has been shown to reach up to 93% (Arbelot et al) #BARA2020

/10 It may actually be better at "ruling in or out" pathology at the bedside than more traditional diagnostic methods including Chest Xray, auscultation & BNP #BARA2020

/10 Airway ultrasound very useful in potential difficult airways - we are nowhere near as good as we think we are at predicting where the cricothyroid membrane is! #BARA2020 @docnavsid

/10 Again better than traditional methods at diagnosing bronchial intubation

/10 Very much a taster of all the resources that are out there - best advice that I can give is find a mentor, scan everyone and delve into all the online research and content that is available!
Grateful to all the #ultrascoundrels to keep me learning every day! #BARA2020
