LONDON I AM IN YOU
Euston Road popup Cycleway with popup bus stop bypasses 👌
Nice little cycle only arm at the Judd Street junction, although it's not forthcoming with the cycle stage!

Stepped cycle tracks on Midland Road.

Weird combination of cycle track with taxi rank access, and one of the largest zebras I've ever seen!
Great wayfinding and another cycle access only arm onto a quiet filtered Street section of Cycleway 👍
Modal filters absolutely everywhere. I've seen more modal filters in 20 minutes than I pretty much ever have in Manchester. All old ones too, not Streetspace related.

I can't believe LTNs are controversial in London given how proven they are.
The width of the stepped cycle tracks are incredible.

There's also a nice junction to go from with-flow cycletracks to a bidirectional one, although again, the green light wasn't quick even on an empty road.

The junctions employ "hold the left" phasing to ensure maximum green
Cycleway transitions to a camera enforced access road, then transitions nicely back to a Cycleway. Obvious to motorists you have to turn here!
Wondering how a "hold the left" junction works to ensure maximum green time for cyclists? Here's a compact example on CS3
CS2 reminds me most of our Cycleways back in Manchester such as Wilmslow Road or Stretford Cycleway, just on a much bigger road!

Look how well loading works with Cycleways 👍
Nice little traffic signal bypass in the first picture unless you're turning right. Next two pictures show how big a hold the left junction can get when on a crossroads and more turns are allowed. CYCLOPS is better suited for more space restricted junctions.
This is a cycle "gate". A very simple and quite effective junction that essentially works like a signalised ASL. Main issue is that cycles are guaranteed a red no matter when they arrive.
Half-CYCLOPS here at Stratford @davelostdave @bricycle

Simultaneous Pedestrian and cycle stage with Pedestrian crossings on the inside!

Only a half CYCLOPS as it only spans two of three arms.
Absolutely incredible public realm here at Stratford. Planting, seating, cycle parking, trees, impeccable paving. Road is unfortunately still busy and polluted but really is a place you want to be.

Also evidence of a temporary Cycleway through finished works. @MBCyclingTM
Protected junction in Waltham Forest. Bit tight but it does work! Pedestrians and cycles get a green at the same time and you can make a right turn in one stage. Some left turns can be done on a red light, where space allows.
Now onto Lea Bridge Road. Again, space is tight, especially around bus stops, but works nicely! Side roads are impeccable, with visual priority for pedestrians and cycles, but the lack of Dutch "inritbanden" kerbs means the footway and Cycleway drop at every side road and driveway
Modal filter combined with parallel Pedestrian and cycle crossing. Just impeccable.
Just SO MANY modal filters. I cannot overstate how tranquil the estate is. There's extremely few cars and they're all going slowly.
Made it to Orford Road. No wonder it's busy, look how lovely it is! So much cycle parking too. I know where I'm having my lunch and a pint!

Imagine a section of Beech Road or Copson Street like this 😍

@evefrancisholt @MShiltonGodwin @samscam @hacking4chorltz
Implied zebra across a road in Hackney. Footway and Cycleway surface continue over road with vague zebra markings and give way markings. Do actually seem to work quite well!
London bridge bus-gated and wand-orca'd.

If you're wondering where the UK supply of wand orcas has gone, London has them all.
Made it to @RailtonLTN .

Lovely and quiet streets but bustling with activity! @SarahJ_Berry
PINT.

Oh my god my poor northern wallet 😭😭
Blackfriars bridge.
This is genius, no doubt from @MBCyclingTM. Contraflow Cycleway closed for utilities works.

So they close the main carriageway to cars and direct cyclists into it.

In Manchester we'd just get a Cyclist Dismount sign and have to figure something out ourselves
If I don't take at least one picture of my bike in London (this is Euston), did I really go? Oh and here's my route too 😅
