{A Thread Knowing Christ }

A lot of us as Christians attend and serve in church weekly, read our bibles and pray daily, fast weekly and THINK we know Christ but in truth are actually far from truly knowing Him...

The disciples were with Jesus everyday for 3 years. They slept, ate, talked with Jesus but when Jesus asked “who do men say that I am?” the disciples were clueless (Matthew 16:13-18). Only Peter knew who Jesus was and this was solely because it was REVEALED to Him by God...

Peter said “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God” and Jesus’ response was “... on this rock I will build my church...”

People have believed that the rock Jesus was referring to was Peter but actually the rock is the revelation Peter had been given of who Christ is...

The building of the church or a believer is not on a person. It is on the revelation of Christ. The revelation of the Son of God; the Gospel

Your life as a child of God is dependent on how much Christ has been unveiled to you and how much you know of Him

“But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?”
Acts 19:15

This is the famous scripture everyone loves to use to say “the devil and the demons must know your name so you must do xyz” but the real message is in verse 13

“A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!”
Acts 19:13

Now in the verse above, you see, the group of Jews actually had more “faith” than most Christians today; they actually approached the possessed man to cast out the demon. However, notice what they said “I command you in the name of Jesus, WHOM PAUL PREACHES...”

They didn’t actually know Christ themselves. They knew Christ based on what they had heard from Paul

Demons only recognise those who recognise themselves in Christ. Those who have a revelation of who Christ is

The power of a believer is dependent on how much you KNOW Christ

Just like believers today we only know Christ from our pastors/ local church and what they say. If we take them out of the equation you have no identity.

If you don’t know Christ for yourself you’ll continue to live a life subpar to what Christ resurrected for

Knowing Christ is more than just being able to perform miracles. It’s the key to living in the newness of life that Christ resurrected for (Romans 6:4)

Because of Christ’s death and resurrection there was a shift and by putting your trust in Christ you entered into a new reality

You must make it your life’s mission to understand everything regarding this new reality you have entered. You must understand what Christ’s death and resurrection means for you as a believer

Ask yourself why, how, when, who and what and read the scriptures to KNOW

Understanding the Gospel is the key to understanding Christ. Understanding Christ is the key to understanding yourself BECAUSE you are ONE with Christ. Christ is our mirror.

Before and after the resurrection are 2 very different realities that you MUST understand
