Here's a little lesson from me 📕

From when I was a true n00b!!

But I see people making the same MISTAKES 🙄

[THREAD🧵]
MISTAKE 1

When I first started out as a little investing piglet I thought I could beat the market 📈

I thought it was pretty easy
Then I would go and look at the share price.

£SN opening price 01/10/20 = £15.20
£SN price 01/10/20 @ 0900 = £15.515 (2.07% increase)

MISTAKE 2
Gonna get me a piece of that action🤩
(so I thought.......)
So I would buy in @ £15.515.

MISTAKE 3
Then I would sit and watch the price about 6 times in the day 🕒
MISTAKE 4
Watching the prices day 2 they have dropped 📉

£SN price 02/11/20 @ 1100 = £15.03 (3.13% decline from my buy rate)

MISTAKE 5
I would get frustrated and sell making a loss from the decline and a loss on the bid-offer spread
I probably lost around 5% of my overall portfolio value trying to predict what prices would do based on news reports and trading announcements.

MISTAKE 6 (bonus error)
I tried chasing my losses here 😱
DONT GET CONFUSED!!! 🤯

Share Trading is fine but IT IS NOT DONE LIKE THIS

I am not knocking share trading BUT if you want to make money from Share Trading, read up on it, learn it and try it on a test account (Trading 212 offer these - http://trading212.com/invite/Gbast0Ny )
Lessons here 📕

❌Dont try and second guess markets
❌Dont buy on the increases WITHOUT proper research

✅Do your own research on investments
✅Learn how to analyse stocks in a way you feel happy with

✅DECIDE YOUR OWN STRATEGY AND STICK TO IT
