Tobidashi-kun (とびだしくん/飛び出しくん 'Dashing Out Boy'/'Popping Out Boy') is a common sight here in NW Kyoto. The cute characters, of which there are hundreds of variations across Japan, are strategically placed at intersections & roadsides to warn drivers to be cautious.

Tobidashi-kun (とびだしくん/飛び出しくん) comes in all shapes and sizes. Even in Kyōto there are dozens of variations.
