Okay, so right before bedtime last night I got thinking about his this disaster could, like all other disasters involving this administration, get infinitely worse SPECIFICALLY in the direction of maximum stupidity and greed, and I think I have it all mapped out now

First, it's obvious that Pence, too, will have to test positive for COVID for things to get REALLY stupid. He will get seriously ill, as will Trump.

Duh.

Because they are who they are, and because the GOP would nuke the entire site from orbit before uttering the words "President Pelosi," they will have made NO continuity of power plans, at least not with the appropriate channels.

They will try to Woodrow and Edith Wilson their way through this, except obviously without leaving Melania in charge. With the whole public face on the White House on lockdown, Jared and Ivanka will have a go at running the country for a little bit.

Whoever has the keys to Trump's Twitter account will start issuing statements which are contradicted by other statements coming from other power centers within the White House, and no one will have any idea what the White House's official policies are

In other words, just like things already are

McConnell will proceed on autopilot, of course, steadfastly avoiding passing a COVID relief bill, because (a) he doesn't give a shit, and (b) someone would be expected to SIGN the damned thing at the White House, and both Trump and Pence are unavailable

And the entire GOP will work hard to go along with the charade, because: President Pelosi.

I don't THINK they'd go so far as to try a literal Weekend at Bernie's with Trump, but then again: The Direction of Maximum Stupidity

Actually, I'm sure things COULD get even stupider and more awful than Jared and Ivanka trying to run the country while pretending to be Trump, but I'll have to think some more about just HOW so.

Oh, and then Putin either poisons someone important overseas or bluffs a run at the Baltics just to see if anyone is actually in charge over here

And then we all die, probably
