Dhoni made his first class debut on January 12, 2000 against Assam. He scored 40(62) in the first innings & 68*(89) in the second innings.

Dhoni was the top scorer in the triangular series against Pakistan A, Kenya on 2004 and made impression to the national selectors.
Dhoni made his debut on 23rd december 2004 against Bangladesh. He got run-out in the first ball, miscommunication with Kaif.

Dhoni scored his first test hundred against Pakistan in Faisalabad, he was up against Akthar, Asif, Razzaq, Kaneria, Afridi but smashed 148 runs from 153 balls which included 19 fours & 4 sixes. He was the top scorer of the Indian innings.

While chasing 299 runs against Srilanka, Dravid sent Dhoni at 3, Dhoni was unbeaten at 183 runs from 145 balls which included 15 fours & 10 sixes and helped India to chase the target in 46.1 overs.

While India were losing wickets on one end, Dhoni held the other end, he faced 159 balls in the fourth innings and saved the lord's test against England in 2007. He was unbeaten at 79, from 159 balls which included 10 fours.
India won the commenwealth series in 2008 in Australia, beating mighty Australia twice in the finals.

Dhoni scored 347 runs in 10 matches at an average of 69.40 with two fifties, he was the third highest leading run scorer of the triangular series.

India were 4 down for two hundred then Virat Kohli & Dhoni helped post 380 runs during the first innings, Dhoni scored 224 runs from 265 balls which included 24 fours & 6 sixes.
Dhoni retired from tests on dec 30th, 2014. He played his final test against Aus, helping India draw the test by scoring an unbeaten 24 from 68 which included 4 fours.

Dhoni played 90 tests, scoring 4876 runs at an avg of 38.09 (33 fifty, 6 hundreds & a double hundred)
On January 4th, 2017

Dhoni stepped down as Odi and T20 captain of Indian team.
On July 14th, 2018

Dhoni completed 10000 runs in Odi format, completed 10000 runs in just 273 innings, He was the 4th Indian to complete this feat.
When I watched MS for the 1st time, I didn't expect to be his fan boy, but after watching innings by innings, he became an inspiration to me. From TC to one of the most successful captains ever. Long live @msdhoni, my life's bucket list is to meet you, hope it happens very soon.
